Centre Update
ACKROYD
Over the last few months Ackroyd has been settling in to some new changes at the community centre. As you may already be aware at the end of last year we said goodbye to Dominic Ellison our centre manager, wishing him well on his new venture as the Managing Director of Hackney Cooperative Developments. Since then we have welcomed a new member to the team and I want to take this opportunity to briefly introduce you to Ackroyd’s new Business Manager Stephen McGann, and offer him a warm welcome on behalf of us all.

Stephen is joining us from the New Cross Gate NDC where for the last 7 years he has been managing community development projects.  During which time he also undertook the task of managing the refurbishment of All Saints Community Centre during its 10months of closer, and maintained a watchful eye during the first 6months of its reopening.  Stephen joins the Ackroyd Community Association with a wealth of knowledge and experience and I hope that we can fill him with enthusiasm for his new role by being welcoming and supportive during the initial transition period.

EPSP
Here we are at the end of a glorious bank holiday weekend and what could be better than only having three days before the next one? Well, fitting in a mid-week celebration should do the trick and EPSP can always be counted on for a little mid-week sunshine. On Wednesday they will be combining two of our biggest celebrations this month, St George’s Day and the Royal Wedding so make sure you wear your Sunday best and come along to join the festivities. There will be decorations, music, refreshments a buffet and the usual party games including a raffle. It’s sure to be an enjoyable event! If you would like to find out more please contact Christina or Mel.

ACORN
Acorn rounds up another successful half-term play scheme this Easter after an adventure filled two weeks. Thanks to the glorious weather the children were able to enjoy plenty of outdoor activities with room to spare for a cinema trip, bbq and a special visit to the O2 animatronic Dino exhibition ‘Dinosaurs Unleashed’. Once again we would like to thank Angelica and the Acorn Team for making the half-term so enjoyable for those included. If you would like your child to attend the next play scheme, you can download a placement form via the Acorn homepage. Spaces fill up quick though so make sure you’re an early bird.
